Dave Brewer has been called “the hardest working musician in the High Country.” Based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, North Carolina, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, talent buyer, promoter, festival director, DJ, professor, writer and bar tender has been a lynchpin in the region’s music scene for more than two decades.

A tongue-in-cheek nod to the fact that his frequent live performances mostly take place close to home, Brewer World Tour is the catch-all name for Dave’s ever widening array of various and sundry music-related activities. For more info on his current projects, bands, events, and services, keep on scrolling…

Bands, etc.

Brewer plays in a few bands including (but not limited to): Possum Jenkins, Soul Benefactor, The Moravian Buns, The Junaluska Gospel Choir, The Worthless Son-In-Laws, The Dead of Winter, and Dave Brewer’s Foscoe Four, The King Bees, Earleine, The Carolina Ramble Revue, Anya Hinkle & Tellico, and Spoon Bread.

As a sideman and special guest, Dave Brewer has shared the stage with wide array of artists including Larry Keel, Roy Roberts, Greg Humphreys (Dillon Fence/Hobex), Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Joe Firstman (Cordovas), David McCracken (Donna The Buffalo), The Legendary JC’s, David Via, Johnny Rawls, Dave Coleman (The Coal Men), Melissa Reaves, Donald Ceasar, and John Doyle, among many others.

dB On The Radio

In fall of 2020, Brewer began working as a DJ at the newly created Boone Area Community Radio, where he helms the Brewer World Tour Radio Hour Tuesdays, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Shortly after joining the BACR crew, Brewer also began remotely producing a version of BWTRH for WOVV 90.1 FM, an eclectic independent station based in Ocracoke, NC. The show airs Wednesdays, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., and can be streamed via the Tune In radio app HERE.

A longtime 88.7 WNCW fan and listener, Brewer is currently training to become a volunteer host for the station’s venerable A.R.C. Overnight show, which hits the airwaves at midnight.
